Jakarta – Held at the Garuda Room, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, the launch of the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2018 took place today. IFEX 2018 will be held again from March 9 to 12, 2018, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO), Kemayoran, Jakarta. This largest B2B (business to business) furniture and craft exhibition in Indonesia and the regional area is a collaboration between the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) and Dyandra Promosindo.
The launch of IFEX 2018 was opened by the Chairman of HIMKI, Ir. Soenoto, in the Garuda Room of the Ministry of Industry in Jakarta, attended by stakeholders from the furniture and craft industry, including the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Directors General of the Ministries, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), members of the DPP and DPD HIMKI, and industry players from across Indonesia.
Still carrying the theme "The Essence of Infinite Innovation," IFEX 2018 aims to encourage furniture and craft artisans to continue innovating in their products and to enhance the export commodities of Indonesian furniture and crafts to the world. Moreover, this year, the government targets the export value of the furniture industry to increase to US$ 2 billion. Therefore, the presence of IFEX serves as the right medium to introduce Indonesia's superior products.
IFEX serves as a platform for local producers to showcase their best products to international buyers. Indonesian furniture is indeed renowned for its unique characteristics, quality craftsmanship, cultural diversity, eco-friendly material combinations, and innovative designs that meet international standards. Our furniture products are particularly iconic and luxurious, especially in the European, American, and Asian and African markets, where the upper class prefers rattan and wooden furnishings for their homes.
